Azerbaijan offered Armenia a ceasefire

The Azerbaijani side unilaterally offered Armenia a humanitarian ceasefire, TASS reports citing Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov.

Bayramov held talks with the Russian President's Special Representative for International Cultural Cooperation Mikhail Shvydkiy. The minister spoke in detail about the aggravation of the conflict between the countries and stated that the provocation was carried out by the Armenian side.

According to him, Azerbaijan is not interested in maintaining tension and instability in the region.

Recall , the situation on the border between Azerbaijan and Armenia escalated on the night of September 13. The number of soldiers killed on both sides was about 100 people. Yerevan and Baku accuse each other of escalating the conflict.

An online meeting of the CSTO was held the day before, at which it was decided to send a mission led by the organization's Secretary General Stanislav Zas to the conflict zone. The group members will prepare a report and develop proposals for de-escalating the tensions that have arisen.

Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said that the country also turned to Russia to receive military assistance, among other things.
