The servicemen of the Donetsk and Lugansk People's Republics took control of the village of Mayorsk, Russian troops provided fire support in this. This was reported in the “Telegram” at the headquarters of the territorial defense of the DPR.
The village of Mayorsk is located on the northern outskirts of the city of Gorlovka in the Donetsk region. In this area was one of the checkpoints of entry— exit from the DPR to the territory of Ukraine controlled by Kyiv.
The headquarters of the territorial defense of the republic also published a map, according to which it is planned to continue the further advance of troops to the north— in the direction of Bakhmut.
In March, the capture of Mayorsk in the DPR was named as one of the conditions for restoring a full-fledged water supply to the territory controlled by the republic. This statement was made by representatives of the DPR in the Joint Center for Control and Coordination of the Ceasefire (JCCC), the second condition they called control over the area of the Donetsk Filtration Station (DFS). “Before the liberation of the village of Mayorsk and the district of the DFS <…> the probability of launching water supply through the Seversky Donets canal— Donbass <…> is close to zero»,— The statement said.
The Donetsk filtering station is located near Yasinovataya and provides water to settlements on both sides of the line of contact, the Donetsk News Agency specified. The total number of consumers exceeds 400 thousand people.
