The Russian Embassy in Washington reacted to the publication of the US State Department about the editor-in-chief of the Rossiya Segodnya media group and RT Margarita Simonyan.
The diplomatic department noted that the publication of representatives of the State Department is a manifestation jealousy over the confidence of the foreign public in the Russian press.
“The material posted on the website of the US State Department is yet another example of frenzied attempts to denigrate our journalists for truthful coverage of international events. The State Department has shown jealousy over the trust and sympathy of the foreign public for the Russian media,” the embassy said.
Among other things, representatives of the diplomatic department recommended that Western colleagues stop “engaging in propaganda, the results of which are a priori insignificant.”
