Starting from March 2023, it will be possible to obtain information from the Unified State Register of Real Estate (EGRN) only with the consent of the owners. This decision is aimed at protecting personal information, life, health and property of Russians, said in an interview with Rossiyskaya Gazeta Head of Rosreestr Oleg Skufinsky.
He called this approach the best international practice, noting that 70-80% of states also provide information from registers with the consent of copyright holders.
According to him, in the rest 20-30% of states need to justify the importance of obtaining personal information of the owner of the object. At the same time, administrators may not provide it.
Skufinsky said that fraudsters can use the relevant data.
“When my colleagues and I studied these issues, such facts, unfortunately, were confirmed” ;, – he said.
The head of Rosreestr commented on the speculation that officials supposedly want to close their data with this law. According to him, they have nothing to do with it, since information about them is open and contained in declarations.
Earlier it was reported that Russian President Vladimir Putin instructed by January 1, 2024 to prepare amendments to laws aimed at to reduce the number of objects not registered in the Unified State Register of Real Estate.
