Assumptions about Russia's involvement in the accidents on the Nord Stream gas pipelines in the Kremlin called “predictably stupid”.
“It is quite predictable and predictably stupid and absurd to express such versions <…> Both lines of Nord Stream 2 filled with gas, all systems are ready for pumping, and this gas is very expensive. <…> This gas costs a lot of money, and now this gas is escaping into the air, — Presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov said.
According to him, the Russian authorities do not yet understand what happened to the gas pipelines.
“If I am not mistaken, we do not yet understand that repair. How can we predict repairs if we do not understand what to repair. We don't understand what happened there»— he said.
At the same time, the Kremlin spokesman recalled the February statements of US President Joe Biden, who promised to get rid of Nord Stream. But the Kremlin, according to Peskov, does not yet know what the head of the White House had in mind.
